When our customers want to go somewhere unique that offers experiences that can’t be found anywhere else in the world, then Namibia is often the country we recommend!
Namibia is a southern African country found along the Atlantic Ocean. It borders South Africa, as well as Zambia and Angola. Its largest city is Windhoek; however, Swakopmund is the largest coastal town and a popular holiday resort for locals and tourists. There is plenty of sea and sand, and even more sand in the desert just beyond the town, where sandboarding, quad biking and other extreme sports are popular.
Namibia is often described as four countries in one due to its very different landscapes. The Namib Desert occupies a long coastal section, and the Khalahari Desert features ancient red sand and little vegetation. The towns and villages are mainly found on the central plateau, with rugged mountains and valleys of sand, while Kavango and Caprivi are areas of tropical forests, woodland savannahs and perennial rivers due to higher rainfall.
Namibia’s vast and unique landscapes are major attractions, along with its exceptional abundance of wildlife. In fact, Namibia is home to the largest free-roaming herd of Black Rhino and cheetah in the world, and the only location in the world with prides of free-roaming lions that are growing in numbers.
The country takes conservation seriously. Only Namibia transfers rare and endangered animal species from local national parks to open communal grounds, and it was the first country to include environmental protection in their constitution.
